Meetings and Partings

The third book in The Borderlands Trilogy

Following his unfair incarceration in a Liverpool prison, Huw is released with the help of his one-time rival, Phillip, who pays his fare to America, where he can start a new life.

After many years of travelling across America, and some incredible adventures Huw returns to New York a rich man. He gets married but his wife and child die in childbirth, so he decides to return to England and Wales.

Back in Liverpool he learns that Amy, his first love, has also died and he has a daughter, Nan. He sets out to find her. Bad luck, bad judgement and a terrible rail crash thwart his efforts but eventually they are reunited.

Meanwhile John Noble, with whom the trilogy began, has become an old man, who regrets his treatment of his stepdaughter which led to her death, and decides to treat his long-suffering wife, and his step-granddaughter with more kindness and understanding, but at that very moment suffers a heart attack and dies.

So many meetings and partings take place but for some life goes on.
